We’re Passionate About Supporting Women’s Health

At Inspiring Pathways Counselling, we believe in supporting¬†women with addressing issues that influence their quality of life and that holistic well-being is integral for supporting women’s health.

Many experiences influence women’s health and well-being. Certain life experiences, including social and societal experiences, can influence the development of problems as well as influence access to relevant, respectful, client-centered services.

Our counsellor provides professional, confidential, client-centered counselling services to assist women with moving towards increased health and empowerment in their lives.

Why We Provide Women-Centered Services

There are many societal influences and issues that affect most women at least to some degree.

For example, while not all women will experience eating disorders, it is not uncommon for women to experience internalized body shame and develop unhelpful ideas about their weight and worth, and engage in practices to control weight.

Along with experiences related to gender, experiences related to age, race, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status can also influence women’s health and well-being.

At Inspiring Pathways Counselling, we work with our clients to use a critical lens to identify larger social factors that influence health and well-being and reduce unhelpful internalized shame and self-blame.

We support our clients with feeling more empowered to make intentional choices that reflect their own values and interests and positively influence their health and well-being.

Issues Inspiring Pathways Supports Women With

Our counsellor works with women experiencing diverse issues including:

Low self-esteem can impact multiple areas of someone’s life.

Our counsellor works with women to identify the internal and external influences that influence their sense of self-worth.

At Inspiring Pathways Counselling our counsellor assists clients with rebuilding a more positive relationship with themselves by nurturing increased self-acceptance, self-compassion, and insight.

A healthy body image can serve an important role in holistic health. An unhealthy body image can negatively influence quality of living and is a risk factor associated with eating disorders.

At Inspiring Pathways we work with clients to move away from unhelpful ideas about weight and worth, develop a healthier body relationship, and increase self-worth.

Women receive many messages from family, community, and larger society about what roles, careers, and activities create a meaningful, satisfying life. While some of these roles or expectations may ring true, others may be seen as unhelpful or not represent all women’s lived experiences and wisdom.

At Inspiring Pathways we work with our clients to identify and explore their values and moving towards living that reflects what’s true and important for them in living meaningful, satisfying lives.

It is well-known that health is influenced by relationships.

Supportive, caring relationships can increase health and resilience while unhealthy relationships can influence chronic stress, health and overall well-being.

At Inspiring Pathways we work with women to explore what’s important to them in relationships, build relational skills, and increase insight to assist women with feeling empowered to improve their interpersonal relationships in their lives.

Mood disorders including anxiety and depression can impact daily living and quality of life.

At Inspiring Pathways, we use evidence-based techniques to support our clients experiencing mood disorders. We work collaborative with clients to build relevant skills, insights, and plans that support their health and well-being.

A significant life event can be expected (such as marriage, having children, or starting a career) or unexpected (experiences of sudden loss, divorce, or trauma).

At Inspiring Pathways, we support women with expressing and making sense of their experiences, identifying and addressing helpful and unhelpful ideas and messages, enhancing positive coping and care, identifying values and values-based actions, and supporting resilience and growth.

At Inspiring Pathways, we are dedicated to providing culturally sensitive counselling services for indigenous women in BC. We are registered with the First Nations Health Authority to provide Crisis Counselling and Counselling for Residential School Survivors and Their Families.

Client-Centered Care

At Inspiring Pathways Counselling, therapeutic support plans are tailored to each client’s needs, interests, and what they hope to get from counselling.

Our counsellor will work with you to identify and create relevant goals that support you with feeling empowered to improve your health and well-being.
